The workshop aimed to inspire innovative ideas across various disciplines and to offer recommendations for the Municipality and professionals involved in shaping the streets of tomorrow.

How can we create an urban landscape where sustainable, efficient last-mile distribution becomes standard, allowing citizens, traffic, education, and both public and commercial activities to coexist harmoniously?

New Environments identified a gap in knowledge and expertise in this area. After sharing their comprehensive analysis on future street design, they invited participants to engage in a co-inspirational session.

GLOC highlighted the challenges of implementing refrigerated last-mile logistics and the use of Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs).

ARUP provided a global overview of cargo bikes, examining diverse public policy approaches from cities like NYC, London, and others in Southeast Asia.

TNO presented an analysis of how varying cargo flows impact and are influenced by different neighborhood types.

Heren5 Architects showcased their work in Sloterdijk South, employing the "Superplinten" method developed in collaboration with STIPO.

Goudappel delivered an integrated analytical perspective on the volumes transported by various cargo types.

The Municipality shared its vision for the Hamerkwartier in Amsterdam Noord, discussing regulatory limitations and potential opportunities.

This workshop is part of a series of inspirational sessions backed by The Creative Industries Fund NL, initiated to address the integration needs of the design studio New Environments.
